Uh, Oh...you better call your Chiro (part 1)
Over the next few weeks, Active Health Chiropractic will be discussing motor vehicle accidents (MVAs). These could be as small as a fender bender or as large as a semi-truck even if the driver has a DOT medical card and exam.
Lets make this part about some facts and statistics....
Active Health Chiropractic knows that MVAs happen every day. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were almost 7 million police-reported accidents in 2022.
Did you know:
A) Four most common types of MVAs
1) rear-end collision
2) a driver ran a red light
3) parking lot accidents
4) collisions involving a left turn with no turn signal turn left accident
***Left turns require drivers to turn in front of oncoming traffic. Whether a green light or at a stop with no traffic light, this can be dangerous as the driver must to oncoming traffic. The driver must have to wait even if it means waiting through more than one light cycle.
B) Most common causes of MVAs
1) distracted driving (between 25-50% of all motor car accidents are caused by distracted driving).
2) drunk driving
4) aggressive driving
5) inclement weather
Active Health Chiropractic was curious, so we looked up some statistics pertaining to Utah...
Among all 50 states Utah ranked:
1) first for speeding tickets
